Join us for an evening of music featuring the premiere of “The Boy Who Drew Cats” by Randall Woolf. The new work, commissioned by The Old Stone House, is based on the Japanese folktale. A young boy who constantly draws cats acquires magical powers from his drawings, and defeats a horde of magical rats occupying a temple.
In addition, chamber music from his ballet of “Where The Wild Things Are”, pianist Kathleen Supové will perform Woolf’s “Milk And Cookies”, and the premiere of his “The Soap Museum” for string quartet and percussion.
“The Boy Who Drew Cats” and “Milk And Cookies” were commissioned by The Old Stone House and in part, by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature.
